A release from the vault archives. This rare opera token was issued to the 7th Earl of Stamford in 1856 and he personally held this token to enter Her Majesty’s Theatre venue. 
George Grey, also known as Lord Stamford, served as a captain in the Cheshire Yeomanry (1845–56) and was a cricketer. His wife upon his death was Dowager Countess of Stamford and Warrington.
